Power Systems Monitoring and Control (Monitorizarea și Controlul Sistemelor Electroenergetice) - MS16
[Master ]

What does it mean?

Power Systems Monitoring and Control (MS16) is a master program taught in English in aims at creating a power systems expert, capable of providing solutions in support to renewable energy integration and energy transition. With an international education experience resulted from studying in English, the graduates will benefit from collaborations with top industry players, gaining valuable insights and practical experience that will prepare them for successful careers. Moreover, you will connect with an international community of passionate engineers committed to innovation and networking in the rapidly evolving domain of power systems monitoring and control.

We are creating you a vibrant educational environment by collaborating with prestigious universities, such Ecole Centrale Nantes – France, Universitat Politecnica Barcelona – Spain, Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin – Germany, Incheon National University – South Korea.

What will you learn about?

Our curriculum features specialized courses in advanced power systems analysis (e.g. angular and voltage stability, frequency and voltage control, congestions management, power quality), renewable energy technologies (e.g. operation and network integration of wind and photovoltaic systems), optimization and smart grid applications (e.g. artificial intelligence techniques in power system optimization and control, SCADA and digital technologies for monitoring and control, high voltage direct current transmission, FACTS devices) providing the students with a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments and challenges in the field.

The theoretical concepts are very well supported by practical applications, either by means of laboratory setups (e.g. SCADA and protection cabinets, energy use and power quality, high voltage installations, electromagnetic compatibility) or by powerful specialized software (e.g. EUROSTAG, MATLAB/SIMULINK, NEPLAN, EDSA, ETAP).

What will you become?

  • System operator at national, regional or private dispatchers
  • Research and innovation engineer in electrical power systems
  • Engineer in design, management, and control of electrical power systems
  • Consultant in energy transition solutions

Who will hire you?

The electrical energy domain is rapidly growing, thus providing hiring and entrepreneurship opportunities. Utility companies, energy traders, consultants, design and execution companies can hire you, such as: Transelectrica; ELECTRICA; PPC; DELGAZGRID; OLTENIA DISTRIBUTION; SIEMENS ENERGY; SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC; GE; GE Digital; HITACHI-ABB; TRACTEBEL ENGINEERING; ENERGOBIT; EXIMPROD; ENEVO Group; ROMELECTRO; ENGIE; HONEYWELL; MONSSON; VEOLIA; HUAWEI.
