Laboratory Electrical Parts of Power Stations and Substations “Constantin DINCULESCU”
Laboratory for the Electrical Parts of Power Stations and Substation “Constantin Dinculescu”, used for the applications activities of the courses on “Electrical parts of power stations and substation”, “Electrical substations”, ”Quality assurance of the power supply services”, “Electrical substations maintenance”, consists of a dynamic model of an electrical power system, designed at industrial scale, of which components are: 5 power sources (4 synchronous generators of 15-20 kVA and a connection to the National Power System) and 29 medium voltage cells of different types, grouped in 5 power substations, as follows:
(1) A state-of-the-art medium-voltage switchgear ABB’s UniGear ZS1 Digital (17.5 kV, 2000A, 50kA) and with an RTU540 SCADA system, that integrate and remotely control the UniGear ZS1 digital Switchgear;
(2) The 10 kV electrical substation “A”, consisting of 11 electric cells and double busbar system of which one system is sectioned;
(3) The 20 kV electrical substation “B”, with a single busbar system and 5 cells, equipped with vacuum breakers, which include complex secondary equipment based on digital technology;
(4) The 20 kV electrical substation “C”, with double busbar system, equipped with 6 prefabricated electric cells;
(5) The 20 kV electrical substation “D”, with a busbar system and a bypass bus system, provided with 5 prefabricated electric cells.
The research activity from this laboratory integrates transdisciplinary perspectives with a high potential for applicability: the development of evolutionary sensors (electrical and non-electrical) and technologies (for online monitoring of technical condition, analysis of failures cascade, control, etc.); exploring the feasibility of new technological tests; modeling and simulation of new maintenance strategies in the context of smartgrid.
