Laboratory Electrical Energy Use and Power Quality
The UCEE laboratory fulfills a multiple role, supporting teaching and research activities. The UCEE laboratory is intended for teaching and research activities as well as industrial (or residential) testing required by various companies involved in the fields of energy efficiency and power quality. It is equipped with micro-models that represent industrial-type equipment on a small scale, capable of producing electrical states specific to industrial (or residential) receivers, used to test the behavior of the electrical network in the presence of disruptive electrical equipment. Systems for measuring (analog and digital) voltages and currents also comply with the requirements of specific standards for measuring the quality of electricity. The laboratory comprises a room, with adequate equipment for carrying out laboratory work or industrial / residential testing.
The didactic models were designed such that to allow the creation of different power supply schemes of the electricity receivers, with the possibility of monitoring the power quality (Traction, Apartment supply, Electric oven, Electric welding, Interior lighting, Exterior lighting, Practical realization of soft-starter systems and frequency converter, Electricity metering systems, Complex three-phase systems, Reactive power flow improvement system, Active harmonic filter).
Disciplines covered within this laboratory are: “Energy use”, “Electrical energy use”, “Power quality”, “Electrical energy audit”, “Electricity supply”.
