Biography
Virgil DUMBRAVĂ - graduated in 1985 from the Faculty of Energy at the POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest.
Since 1991 he has been a teacher at the Faculty of Energy, and in 1998 he obtained the title of Doctor of Engineering.
He is a professor at the Department of Electric Power Systems, Faculty of Energy at the POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest.
He is a member of the prestigious professional associations IEEE PES and CIGRE, as well as of the Energy Commission, Department of Technical Sciences of the Romanian Academy.
The didactic activity carried out focuses mainly on the field of optimizing the operation and development of the installations in the electric power system, as well as on the field of the electricity market and energy regulations.
The published works (books, articles, communications), as well as the research and consultancy activity, deal with different aspects related to this issue. He has published over 100 scientific papers in the country and abroad.
He received the Business Excellence Award at the International Conference on Business Excellence (2017) and the Best Paper Award of Inventions magazine (2018).
