Ion TRIȘTIU

Biography

Ion Triştiu received the B.S. and Ph.D. degree in Power Systems from POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest in 1990 and 1998 respectively. Between 2001-2003 he attended the courses of Postgraduate Cycle in Energy, organized at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, and in parallel he completed a postdoctoral internship at the Energy and Municipal Research Center (CREM) of Martigny, Switzerland.

Didactic and scientific research activity was carried out in Chair of Electric Power Engineering (1990-2011), respectively in Department of Electric Power Systems (after 2011) of Power Engineering Faculty from POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest. He successively completed the didactic degrees of preparator, assistant, lecture, associate professor, and in 2017 he was named as a Professor.

During 2008-2012 he was vice-dean of the Power Engineering Faculty, and between 2012-2016 he was the head of Electric Power Systems Department. Since 2016 he is vice-dean of Power Engineering Faculty, having as attributions the relationship with socio-economic environment, internships, postgraduate and professional training courses, graduates insertion on labor market, Erasmus and ARUT mobilities.

Interest area are represented by Electric Networks and Power Systems, Distributed generation and integration of renewable energy sources, Optimization of distribution networks, Dynamic of overhead electric lines.

Didactic and scientific research activity materialized through the publication of over 70 articles and scientific papers, participation as co-author in the elaboration of 11 books and publication of a book as unique author. He was responsible for 20 research projects and consulting works and participated in the elaboration of over 40 research projects for electricity transmission and distribution operators, research institutes or economic agents in energy domain.
